解体新書の誤訳について扱われていたものを見つけたので私も考えてみました
詳しい解説は上記のブログに載っていますので私が改めて何かを書く必要はないかもしれませんが..
Relative to our present sensory experience,
there is much (about the physical objects) we ordinarily speak of()[ which is not manifest].
ここが二重限定であるか否かという問題ですが
私も二重限定であると考えました。
我々が今まさしく知覚していることに比べて(対して)、
we ordinarily speak ofというのは私たちが話題にしていることであり、
それは知覚した結果に他なりません（私たちは自分達が知覚できないことについては語ることができないといった意味であると思います)(語るということはそれ自体が既に知覚されたものであり、さもなくば経験したという過去の事実からあるはずであるということしか言えないといった内容であるように思えます)
全体の中の部分という関係が具体例として挙げられているということがわかります.
For example, at any one time I can see directly at most three sides of an object (such as the book)( on my desk) and actually touch only part of it.
Further, for the greater part of the time in which we believe it to exist,
it is not observed by us, or indeed by anyone.
Its existence thus transcends the actual observations we make(of it), and, relative to those observations, its continuous existence while unobserved can only be a matter of inference or construction, just as <the belief >that the parts (of it) that I am not touching remain as they did when I was touching them is only an extrapolation (from past experience.)

その中でも、私たちが触れることができない部分はそのままである
といったように
触れることができないparts
というのは「多くのこと」
であることからも
今回はmuchにかかっていると判断できると思います.
